Is Your Version of QuickBooks Up-To-Date?
I have always set my QuickBooks to Automatically Update to retrieve new updates. Recently, we installed a server and had to reconfigure our QuickBooks slightly. As we were getting QuickBooks installed on the server, we found that our QuickBooks 2007 Premier did not have the latest updates. I was so surprised and asked the tech support person how could that have happened since we subscribe to the Automatic Updates. They said if you have a router (all routers have a built-in firewall), it probably prevented the updates from installing properly. They told me most people visit their website and download the updates manually, save them to their hard drive then install the update. So we visited the website and downloaded the current update; this just took a few minutes.
Check your QuickBooks software to make sure your version is up-to-date. First, press F2 while inside QuickBooks and a window will pop-up displaying your release number. If you are using QuickBooks 2007 Premier, your release number should be R7P if you are running QuickBooks 2007 Pro, your release version should be R7. (see screenshot below)
Manually download a patch if your QuickBooks is not up-to-date with the latest release..

Select your operating system and version of QuickBooks.

Select Manual Download.

Save the downloaded file to your Desktop or create a file folder call Installs.
Below I have listed each release for QuickBooks Pro and the latest release number. Click on appropriate version to visit the download page.
For Mac and Premier versions click here and select your appropriate version.
