Get Really Creative in Studio!

Graphic programs like Studio have endless possibilities; your imagination is the only thing that will hold you back. There will be times in Studio you will find it necessary to create your own images. As Merlyn, our Tech Support specialist and Webinar Host, says the Polygon Tool is your best friend. If you have taken one of our advanced Webinars like Using Studio's Drawing Tools, then you have already seen this simple technique.

Some time ago, we discovered a very easy way to trace around an image in a magazine, photograph or website. First, import the photograph or magazine page then zoom in around the object to be traced. Then activate the Polygon Tool and start clicking and tracing. Watch this short video clip as this procedure is demonstrated. (Note: if the video doesn't come up, your computer may be blocking pop-ups. Click Allow Animated Pop-ups from Minutes Matter Studio.) Practice on a couple of simple objects like the lamp in the video, a little practice makes perfect. You can create anything with the Polygon Tool, just look at some of the items that have been created on The Lounge.

The Transparency Tool not only make images transparent; it has another great function; to make cutting around images in a photograph much easier. This step-by-step illustration with text was posted on The Lounge. Click on the link to read all the details.
