How can I account for these items in QuickBooks? When you purchase items in bulk that will be used for multiple clients, these items should be classified as inventory items. On the other hand, when you purchase lining by the bolt, a case of pillows or a put up of traverse rods, they should be classified as inventory items. When you purchase fabric or decorative rods they should be classified as non-inventory parts since these items are purchased for a specific client.
