January 2003 - Vol. 1 No. 1

We wish everyone a happy and prosperous New Year!

Many of us are making New Year’s resolutions as we begin the New Year. Some goals will be easy to accomplish, others will be an ongoing project and yet other goals will take considerable effort to achieve. As entrepreneurs, we know our success depends on us. Putting in more hours into our business is not the answer. However, managing our time more effectively will decrease those extra hours. Time is precious! Listed below are five easy steps to increase your day’s productivity by 50%. It has been proven that goals are less likely to get accomplished without a written list. Something magical happens when goals are written down!

  1. Take five minutes at the end of each day to write down the six most important tasks you want to accomplish tomorrow.

  2. List them in the order of importance.

  3. Check the list three times during the day.

  4. Cross off completed tasks.

  5. Add incomplete tasks to the “Must do list” for tomorrow.

Organize today for a more productive tomorrow!

Time Management Articles by Professional Organizers is a highly recommended site. This website includes great information about prioritizing, eliminating stress & capturing time.

“According to the Families and Work Institute, over 47% of U.S. workers surveyed feel overworked. In addition, 59% of Americans describe their lives as very busy according to an NBC news survey. According to Dr. Richard Swensen, author of Margin: Restoring Emotional, Physical, Financial, and Time Reserves to Overloaded Lives, the average American will spend one year in his/her life searching through desk clutter looking for misplaced objects. We are working harder and faster than ever. Being more organized can help reduce stress, save time, and improve efficiency.”
