Use Different Closings in Your E-mails!

Create two closings for your emails or as many as you need.  Create one for personal and one for business.

  1. Open Microsoft Word.
  2. Type in a closing.  Format the closing to make it even more unique; use italics, bold, an underline and even change a color for the font.  (see below)  Only people that receive their email in HTLM format can view your closing in the formatted version.  If they view emails in plain text they will not be able to see bold, italics, color, etc.  If you send your email in plain text it will appear without formatting also.  You can change how you receive and send emails in your email account setup.
  3. Highlight the entire closing and keep it highlighted.
  4. Click Tools (top menu bar).
  5. Click Auto Correct Options.
  6. Click the Auto Correct tab if it is not already chosen.
  7. Type in two or more letters that will activate the Auto Correct option. Type the letters in the Replace field.  I type MM and the closing below appears.  I type DG and my personal closing appears.

    Make every minute matter,

    Debbie

Order Custom Shutters & Pay a 50% Deposit

Record deposits on shutters correctly by creating a purchase order for the entire shutter job.  Each line on the purchase order can represent a different size.  Second, press Ctrl W (a check will pop up), create a check by typing in the vendor's name, press tab and a window will pop up saying "Open Purchase Orders exist for this vendor.  Would you like to receive against one or more of them.", click yes and select the correct purchase order.  The shutter information from the purchase order will appear on the check. Enter the 50% deposit in the amount field.  Change the quantity to half of the original quantity on the purchase order i.e., quantity of "1" would become ".5".  By changing the quantity to half, this leaves the purchase order open for the remaining final payment.  Press Ctrl W to issue a check for the final payment and another window will pop up prompting you of an open existing purchase order.

Treatment Details . . .

  • Arched cornice with cut-outs. The construction of this cornice requires approx. 1/3 more time than a regular cornice.  Ann attended Amy Burton's Cornice Boards 101 & 102 classes at The Custom Home Furnishings School, where she gained the knowledge to create these advanced cornices.

  • The windows are rectangular windows with transoms. The client wanted softer lines so Ann designed the cornices with that in mind.  Cornices are 44" wide, 22" high at the center and 19" high on the sides.

  • Cornices were constructed of ½" plywood to add extra strength for the cut outs.  The cut outs were 9" wide and 6" - 7¼" in height.  The space between the cut-outs were 1¼".  To help control glare from the outside, two layers of batiste sheer were placed on the backside over the cut-out sections.

  • Fabric was Birgitta, Color: Linen from Robert Allen.  A smaller print for this would be easier when trying to center fabric on cornice, however this client could not be talked out of a large print.  The cut-outs and the top and bottom of the cornice were trimmed with a rope cord with a lip.

This treatment was fabricated by Ann Neel, Windows Sew Beautiful, Fort Mill, SC WinSewBeaut@fmtc.net
