Isn't it scary that anyone can find where you live. Kari Gang with Checks & Chintz brought this to our attention. Go to www.google.com and type your home phone number - your address as well as a map to your home appears. You can remove your name from this list by clicking on the telephone icon next to your name and request that your name be removed, you will see this statement "To have your residential or business phone and address information removed from the Google PhoneBook, click here."
Online Banking is another area people think is very scary. I have a different perspective on this; I use online banking for both my business and personal accounts. I also have online access to all my credit cards. For example; we download all of our QuickBooks' credit card charges directly into our QuickBooks account. Transactions can be downloaded daily, weekly or whenever needed. Several months ago, we found a fraudulent charge and stopped it before the product shipped. Every major credit card company has online access. Another asset is the ability to pay your credit card bills online. If your bank offers online banking you can transfer funds between accounts with a click of a button. People are afraid of someone stealing their account information. However, with the high security and sophisticated encryptions used in the banking industry you are able to view your accounts much easier, faster and have more control when you get wired. Accessing Registers in QuickBooks
Access any register in QuickBooks by pressing Ctrl R. Access your Checking Account, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Credit Cards or any Item register. Using registers can let you view a multitude of transactions quickly. For instance, you can press Ctrl R when you are in an Invoice window and your Accounts Receivable register will appear. You can then view other invoices or payments made by a particular client. You can also, select (single click) a client, press Ctrl Q (Quick Report) and view all transactions for the selected client. Repeat this procedure when you are in the Enter Bill window. Press Ctrl Q to view all bills and payments made to a particular vendor; use this feature when you receive a statement from a vendor.
